So many faces linger like the clouds,
rolling in the morning, not lost nor sovereign
so many lovers burn off by midday,
guess the sun was shining too bright on their face

So many times I've seen the future on a wing
but kept on flying full speed ahead while knowing

That many people come and go
guess we'll always be ethereal
no matter how I wish to see it through
there's nothing I can do, some things just need to die

A thousand times I've seen the past dissolve in my mind
but kept on going as if a part of a storyline
a thousand ways I've felt shame crawl under my skin
but couldn't change all of the ways that I could have been
